How to Schedule a Mediation with karlbayer.com
1. Find out what dates Karl Bayer has available. We have now made a version of Karl Bayer's calendar available to the public on the web. To go there immediately, click here. This calendar will let you see immediately which days Karl is free to mediate, so you can easily coordinate with all involved parties. If a single date is particularly good for you, we can put a hold on it at this stage for up to three days while you confirm with the other parties. Dates on the public calendar which are being held temporarily are listed as "ON HOLD"; dates for which a mediation has been confirmed are listed as "UNAVAILABLE". Alyson Chaky is the person to whom you need to speak to hold a date or schedule a mediation, and she can be reached at extension 100 of our office phone number (512-345-8537). Please note also that Karl Bayer is willing to conduct mediations at any time on any day, and not just during conventional business hours.
2. Once you have confirmed with all parties, call us back at the same number (512-345-8537, ext 100) and we will hold the date on our calendar.
3. Send us a fax (512-345-9469) which includes the names of all the attorneys involved with the mediation and their contact information, as well a the style of the case. We will use this information to send everyone a confirmation packet from our office which includes Mr. Bayer's fee information, directions to the office, our cancellation policy, and Mr. Bayer's policy regarding pre-mediation submissions. Your receipt of this packet means that the mediation is officially scheduled and any cancellation will have to occur in accordance with our cancellation policy.
4. If you like, click here to download an IRS Form W-9 (Request for Taxpayer Identification Number and Certification) which has already been filled out with Mr. Bayer's information. Print the form, add your own information and mail it to us, preferably with a return-envelope. This form requires the freely-distributed and widely used Adobe Acrobat Reader (which you can download for free if you do not have it), and it is fill-in-able, which means you can type your firm's information directly on the form before printing. We will have Mr. Bayer sign the form, and we will return it to you. We receive many requests for these forms, and this seems the easiest way to handle them.
